Measles warning for Perth Zoo and IKEA

A measles alert has been issued for two venues in Perth after a person was infected with the illness on a visit to Western Australia's South West region.

Perth residents may have been exposed to measles after a person was infected with the illness during a visit to southwest Western Australia.

A measles alert has been issued for the suburb of Innaloo, Perth Zoo and the popular South West tourist region of WA after a patient, unknowingly carrying the illness, visited two public venues in the city last week.

The Department of Health says people who visited Perth Zoo on January 1, or Perth's IKEA store at lunchtime on January 2, should remain vigilant to the onset of measles symptoms which could develop in the coming fortnight.
