Mehajer's sister crowned Miss Lebanon Australia

Mary Mehajer, sister of controversial former Auburn Deputy Mayor Salim Mehajer, has won the Miss Lebanon Australia 2016 beauty pageant.

Mary (Mariam) Mehajer has been crowned Miss Lebanon Australia.

Ms Mehajer is the sister of controversial property developer and former Auburn Deputy Mayor, Salim Mehajer.

After the competition, Mr Mehajer congratulated his sister.

Ms Mehajer talked to ABC’s program 7.30, who reported she was hesitant about being involved and was, at first, nervous.

2015 pageant winner Nicole Rizk told the Daily Telegraph in 2015 the competition allowed her to make a positive difference in her community.
