Melbourne's Formula One grand prix has been brought forward two weeks, with refunds offered to ticket-holders who now can't make it.

The GP will be held from March 17-20, rather than April 3.

"We're pleased by the revised date. It will mean local clubs in Albert Park are less affected than what they otherwise may have been during the sporting season," Sports Minister John Eren said on Thursday.
