Melbourne Measles case sparks alert

People in Melbourne should look out for symptoms of measles after an infectious case was discovered by health authorities.

A tourist with an infectious case of measles has visited a number of Melbourne hot spots, prompting a public health alert.

For three days until July 15 the young man visited Brighton, the city and Melbourne Airport before travelling to Sydney on Virgin Airlines flight VA 841, it was revealed on Friday.

VicHealth urges residents and visitors in Melbourne to be on alert for measles symptoms including fever, a cough and conjunctivitis, especially if they have not been vaccinated.
