Melbourne will become Australia's largest city by 2056.

That's the latest prediction from the Australian Bureau of Statistics, which says a 40 year high in interstate migration will see Melbourne's population exceed Sydney's in just over four decades.

Professor in Urban Planning at the University of Melbourne, Carolyn Whitzman, told Biwa Kwan the trend is hardly surprising.
