Melbourne Rebels end New Zealand hoodoo

The Melbourne Rebels have broken an exasperating run of outs for Australian Super Rugby teams in New Zealand.

THE END OF A SUPER RUGBY DROUGHT

* Melbourne became the first Australian Super Rugby side to win in New Zealand in three years and 32 games

* Michael Cheika's NSW Waratahs were the last team to win on Kiwi soil when they beat the Hurricanes in Wellington in round 10, April 17, 2015

* The Rebels' win was also the first by an Australian Super Rugby team at Eden Park since the Brumbies in 2013

* It equalled Melbourne highest number of wins (seven) in a Super Rugby season

* The victory kept alive Melbourne's Super Rugby playoff aspirations.
