Meningococcal case confirmed in SA

South Australia's health department says a young girl has been diagnosed with meningococcal disease.

A girl from South Australia has been hospitalised with a potentially deadly strain of meningococcal disease.

The 11-year-old from Adelaide is in a stable condition after being diagnosed with B strain of the disease, SA Health says.

There have been seven confirmed cases of the disease in SA this year, with no links established between the current and other recent cases.
