Mexico earthquake death toll climbs to 149

The death toll from the strong earthquake that struck Mexico has climbed to 149, with fears more people are trapped under collapsed buildings.

At least 149 people have been killed by the Mexico earthquake, the country's Civil Defence agency says.

Forty-nine people were killed in Mexico City, agency head Luis Felipe Puente wrote on Twitter.

Another 55 were killed in the state of Morelos south of the capital, 32 in Puebla, 10 in Mexico State and three in Guerrero.
