A marble mine in central Mexico has collapsed with two people confirmed dead and three others missing, officials say.

The landslip occurred on Thursday in the town of Dengantzha in Hidalgo state with the state government saying a vehicle was driving along a road that surrounds the mine when the ground collapsed under it.

There were eight people in the mine at the time but three managed to flee and the dog squad is on hand to help find remaining survivors.
