Get the backyard cricket pitch ready, Christmas Day is looking like a cracker across Australia.
The Bureau of Meteorology is forecasting mainly mild and sunny conditions across the country on Monday, although parts of Queensland and NSW could be hit by late showers or thunderstorms.
"Generally across the country it's going to be a beautiful day ... one of the most stable and quietest weather days we've seen for most parts of the country," meteorologist Dean Narramore said.
Perth and Adelaide are both forecast to be fine, sunny and hot on Monday, with temperatures around or over 30 degrees Celsius.
It should be a bit cooler in Melbourne and Hobart but the weather will be fine.
"A cooler day for much of Melbourne and Victoria," Mr Narramore said.
"Big contrast to last year when it was 36 degrees."
Sydney and Brisbane are both expected to start the day fine.
Christmas Day is forecast to be a lot cooler in Sydney than on Christmas Eve when temperatures are forecast to hit a maximum of 34 degrees Celsius.
The Bureau says it will be almost 10 degrees cooler on Monday.
Brisbane is expected reach 32 degrees in what will be a hot and humid start to Christmas Day.
Brisbane, southeast Queensland, northern NSW and areas west of Sydney could all experience a late storm or shower though the Bureau doesn't believe it will be enough to put much of a dampener on celebrations.
Darwin may also have some late wet weather to contend with after a hot day.
