Anthony Milford has sent an injury scare through Brisbane just three days out from their crunch NRL clash with Canterbury after leaving training early on Monday.

The 22-year-old pulled the pin on the session at Red Hill after approximately 30 minutes and headed back into the sheds with a trainer, although it wasn't clear what his specific injury concern was.

"I noticed he'd left, I'm not sure what the go is," co-captain Corey Parker said.

"They might just be putting him on ice."

The Broncos say they are monitoring Milford's workload, with the star playmaker having played every game for the club both this season and last.

He had arguably his best game in weeks in last week's victory over Parramatta, scoring one try and setting up two others in a welcome return to form.

But it would be a disaster if Brisbane were to lose him for Thursday night's meeting with the third-placed Bulldogs at Suncorp Stadium.

"It's great to see Milf playing with confidence, but it's just good to see 17 guys enjoying their footy, like we saw Friday night," Parker said.

"We've been working really hard here and it was nice to get a reward in the game."

Meanwhile, Kodi Nikorima (shoulder) upped his involvement at training, putting him in the frame for a possible return, while Jarrad Wallace (groin) was on light duties but is still expected to play.

Bench utility Nikorima hasn't played since Brisbane's 48-6 belting at the hands of the Melbourne Storm six weeks ago.

"He's a vital part of our team. We'd love to have him back, that creative running game he's got is something we've been missing," hooker Andrew McCullough said.

"But if he's not ready, he's not ready.

"He knows his body well enough to say when he's right to go."
