Brisbane prop Adam Blair believes Queensland five-eighth Anthony Milford will provide the spark the Broncos need to snap their two-game NRL losing run against South Sydney on Friday night.

Kiwi captain Blair said Milford had made an immediate impact at Brisbane since returning from State of Origin duty.

Milford made his Origin debut in Queensland's 28-4 game one loss to NSW at Suncorp Stadium last week.

"It's good Milly got to play Origin. After being around the best players in the game, his energy around the club and on the field has been great," Blair said.

"You surround yourself with quality players and pick up aspects of your game that you think you have to work on (at Origin camp).

"Anthony's job is to run the football and be creative - I think he will take a fair bit of pressure off a lot of players (on Friday night)."

Brisbane hooker Andrew McCullough admitted veteran half Benji Marshall's form in last round's 18-16 loss to the Sydney Roosters would ensure some headaches for coach Wayne Bennett.

Marshall is expected to be the odd man out when Bennett names his squad for the Rabbitohs clash with Milford combining with Ben Hunt in the halves and Kodi Nikorima picked as bench utility.

Nikorima has been cleared of a shoulder complaint.

"I am glad I am not picking the team," McCullough said.

"It's a good headache to have during this tough State of Origin period.

"It keeps everyone on their toes and keeps them performing."

Brisbane rested Origin stars Darius Boyd, Sam Thaiday, Josh McGuire and Corey Oates at Tuesday training but they are not in doubt for the South Sydney clash.
