Military jet crash kills two in Vietnam

A jet crash in southern Vietnam has resulted in the deaths of two people.

At least two people have been killed after a military training jet crashed minutes after take-off in southern Vietnam on Friday, local media reported.

The Czech-made Aero L-39, which was being flown by a military student pilot, crashed onto a highway before coming to rest in a rice paddy field in Phu Yen province, the Thanh Nien newspaper reported.

At least one crew member and a civilian on the ground were killed, with further rescue efforts reportedly underway.
