Miller wins bars for first Aust gym title

Larrissa Miller has claimed her first national bars title at the Australian Gymnastics Championships in Melbourne.

Victorian gymnast Larrissa Miller continued her outstanding performance at the Australian Gymnastics Championships on Saturday, claiming her first national bars title in Melbourne.

An Olympian in 2012 and bars specialist, Miller was the top qualifier coming into the final and did not disappoint with a stunning routine that scored 15.175 and put her way ahead of her nearest competitor.

Isis Lowery of Victoria also secured her first national gold medal with a score of 14.125 on vault.

In the men's individual apparatus finals, Queensland's Naoya Tsukahara added to his tally of Australian titles, securing his third rings crown in four years with a score of 14.95.

Tsukahara won the all-around crown on Friday night.

New Zealand's Reid McGowan top scored on the pommel horse with 13.9 to edge out Tsukahara (13.85) and New Zealand's David Bishop was best on floor with (14.5) ahead of Victoria's Jayden Bull (14.4).

The championships are also serving as Commonwealth Games selection trials.
