Minor injury after Jandakot chopper scare

A helicopter has landed hard at Jandakot airport in Perth's south, but both passengers have walked away relatively unharmed.

Two men have walked away from a helicopter after it landed hard at Jandakot airport in Perth's south.

Emergency services raced to the scene just after 3.30pm, and police reported about an hour later that those on board were well enough to walk away from the aircraft.

The pilot, 40, sustained a minor injury to his arm and was taken to hospital while his 46-year-old passenger was unharmed.

The impact of the hard landing caused the tail of the helicopter to snap, causing a fuel leak.

The Australian Transport Safety Bureau will investigate the incident.
