Missing Australian Andrew Gaskell has been found by Malaysian search and rescue crews after going missing in a national park.
Mr Gaskell told family and friends he would be hiking in the Mulu National Park in Sarawak, with poor mobile coverage, for about a week from October 18.
But when no one heard from the 25-year-old, he was reported missing to Tasmania Police on October 27.
The 25-year-old was found on Tuesday and is being assessed in a Malaysian hospital, Tasmanian Police said in a statement.
Mr Gaskell grew up in Hobart but has lived in Cairns for the past three years and it was his family in Tasmania who alerted police.
Mr Gaskell was found emaciated and with leeches on his legs at Camp 1 of the Mulu National Park, according to the Borneo Post.
He was also conscious and able to speak to his rescuers, the paper reports.
