Missing elderly prospector found in WA

An elderly prospector who became separated from his friend in Western Australia's South West region at the weekend has been found alive.

An elderly man reported missing in Western Australia's South West region after becoming separated from his friend while prospecting has been found "safe and well".

John Donald MacKay, 70, was last seen near Yourdamung Lake, about 30km north-west of Collie, about 5pm on Sunday.

Police and other emergency services launched a land and air search on Monday, and he was found by the afternoon.
