The US Justice Department's internal watchdog says his office has recovered five months' worth of missing text messages between two Federal Bureau of Investigation officials.
The text exchange has become a source of contention in the US, amid Republican claims the FBI officials are biased against President Donald Trump.
In a letter to several key Republican politicians, Inspector General Michael Horowitz also said he would not object if the Justice Department decides to share the recovered messages between FBI agent Peter Strzok and FBI lawyer Lisa Page with Congressional committees.
