Missing Qld camper found safe and well

Police say a camper who went missing near a north Queensland river known as a crocodile habitat has been found safe and well, and taken for medical assessment.

A man who went missing in north Queensland crocodile country has been found safe and well more than 24 hours after he was last seen.

Police say the 69-year-old was found on Thursday afternoon near the site where he had been camping with family about 20 kilometres from the Lockhart River.

He has been taken for a medical assessment at the nearby Lockhart River township.

The man's brother went looking for him and then alerted authorities when the man failed to return from a walk at around 5pm on Wednesday..
