The daughter of an American tourist who spent two nights lost in bushland on the NSW south coast is praising emergency crews and volunteers for finding her safe and well.
Alyce Tidball, 65, went bushwalking in the Deua Valley River, near Moruya, on Saturday afternoon and was reported missing on Sunday morning.
An extensive land and air search around the Deua National Park resumed on Monday morning and found Ms Tidball alive, with only minor injuries, police said.
"My mother has been found!!," Ms Tidball's daughter Anna Tidball wrote on Facebook from Los Angeles.
"Thank you so much, I couldn't be more grateful for all of you over there in Australia and your community. It means the world to my family and I," she said to those who helped search and sent messages of support.
Anna had been preparing to fly to Australia to join the search party for her mother, believed to be an international consultant who has worked at US embassies around the world, including Kabul and Mexico City.
Temperatures in the region dropped to 5C during the night over the weekend.
