A Molotov cocktail allegedly thrown from a car hit a Victorian police officer, sparking a pursuit across southeast Melbourne.

A Molotov cocktail allegedly thrown from a car hit a police officer before a pursuit started across southeast Melbourne.

The police were doing a welfare check on an unconscious man in a car in Cranbourne North on Friday morning when two cars pulled up and the cocktail was allegedly thrown.

Police chased the cars and four men were arrested, while the unconscious man in the car was taken to hospital.
