Joel Monaghan has quit the NRL following the publication of a photo of the Canberra Raiders star in a simulated sex act with a dog.
He is to announce his decision at a press conference at 3pm Eastern in Canberra.
The Canberra board was expected to meet today to decide on his future with the club but it is understood Monaghan decided to resign instead.
Its been reported that his manager Jim Banaghan, has already begun sourcing offers from the English Super League.
