Monty Python to release comedy songs

Monty Python are re-releasing their 1989 comedy album Monty Python Sings with the addition of five new songs.

British comedy troupe Monty Python will release new music in May, before their reunion shows later in 2014.

John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Michael Palin reunited in 2013 to announce plans for a one-off show in London in July. That show sold out within a minute and further dates were added, taking the total number to 10.

The veteran comedians will capitalise on their comeback by re-releasing their 1989 comedy album Monty Python Sings with the addition of five new songs.

Idle announced the news on Twitter on Wednesday, writing, "Just been sequencing the re-release of Monty Python Sings (again) plus five new tracks. There'll be a new song on U Tube (YouTube) & new single May."
