On Tuesday evening, three suicide bombers attacked Istanbul’s Ataturk airport, killing at least 41 people in a hail of bullets and explosions.

No one has yet claimed responsibility for the incident, thought the CIA says IS is most likely responsible.

The bombing is the latest in a wave of attacks across the country, which have been carried out by Kurdish separatists and IS.

In solidarity with Turkey and the victims, which included more than 200 people who were wounded, landmarks around the world have been lit up with the Turkish flag.

The Mostar Bridge in Bosnia and Herzegovina

The Dam Square Palace in Amsterdam

The Auckland Sky Tower
