Beth Mooney admits her batting was spiralling out of control until a match-winning WBBL hundred on the weekend stopped the rot.
The Australian and Brisbane opener blazed 102 off just 55 balls in Cairns as the Heat chased down Sydney Thunder's 171 with three balls to spare.
The sides meet again in Saturday's semi-final in Sydney, where Mooney hopes her Heat now hold the mental edge.
"Hopefully (the win) gets in their heads a little bit, but the slate's wiped clean isn't it and they have some world class players in their line-up," she said.
A lean start to the Heat's campaign hurt Mooney but she left no doubt she was in that world class bracket on Saturday in an innings she admitted was overdue.
"I wasn't clear on (a batting) process or plan earlier in the season and after a few low scores it's easy to unravel and spiral out of control," she said.
"That's probably what happened to me a little bit.
"Looking back probably a little harsh on myself as well but that's what you have to do if you want to be one of the best players in the world."
The Heat have had contributions from all corners of their squad in a 9-5 regular season and aren't fearing a rematch with a Thunder side headed by in-form Australian bat Rachael Haynes.
"That's been a change this year as well, worrying about ourselves more and not who we're coming up against," the 25-year-old said.
"As individuals there is a lot of confidence flying around the group at the moment."
