A sparkling knock from Beth Mooney catapulted the red-hot Brisbane Heat to a five-wicket win over the Melbourne Stars and into second spot on the WBBL points table.
Needing 134 to win on a slow pitch at Harrup Park in Mackay, Mooney thumped 57 off 38 deliveries to overtake Ellyse Perry and Elyse Villani as the competition's leading runscorer and underpin the Heat's successful chase of 5/134 from 18.1 overs.
Mooney's departure in the 12th over, smartly stumped by Nicole Faltum, stalled the Heat's charge as legspinners Alana King (2-22) and Kristen Beams (1-16) proved difficult to handle.
But Australian representative Jess Jonassen found some momentum late, finishing unbeaten on 23 and consigning the seventh-placed Stars to their seventh defeat from nine matches by hitting Annabel Sutherland for six.
The visitors were restricted to 3-133 and emerging opener Katie Mack's 57 was the standout.
No.3 Mignon du Preez contributed 30 but uncharacteristically only registered two boundaries from her 35 balls.
Brisbane's bowling attack was led by Caribbean allrounder Deandra Dottin (2-14).
With five successive victories, the Heat are the form side in the WBBL.
