Morcombes behind a cyber safety campaign

Denise and Bruce Morcombe are at the forefront of another initiative to improve cyber safety and educating children about domestic violence.

More than 100 child protection professionals will attend the launch of a Daniel Morcombe Foundation cyber safety campaign, which also addresses domestic violence, on the Sunshine Coast.

The campaign, to be announced at Maroochy Surf Club on Tuesday morning, is aimed at school children from prep to year 12 and is part of the Sunshine Coast Regional Child Protection Week.

Denise and Bruce Morcombe have tried to improve child safety awareness since their son Daniel was abducted from a Sunshine Coast bus stop in December, 2003. His remains were found in 2011.

The cyber safety awareness program is included in the Keeping Kids Safe resource kit.

Mr Morcombe says educating children about respectful relationships and tackling situations involving domestic violence is the way forward.

"We must correct the generational relationship imbalance which has led to unhealthy and often violent domestic situations," Mr Morcombe said.

"We believe these video resources will promote a much needed boost to positive discussion."
