Australia's golden run in the snow has continued with Alex Pullin claiming his first win of the season as compatriot Jarryd Hughes took second in a snowboard cross World Cup event in Germany.

Pullin, a two-time world champion, had struggled on day one of the back-to-back events in Feldberg but was on top of his game to take the second race.

It was an encouraging finish for Hughes, who is finding his way back to form after a knee injury curtailed his 2015/16 season.

Hughes had last made the podium when he won a World Cup meet in Lake Louise more than three years ago.

Pullin moves up to fourth on the overall standings while Hughes slots up to sixth.

Women's World Cup leader Belle Brockhoff also had a solid race, but just missed the podium, finishing fourth.

Pullin becomes the seventh Australian athlete to win World Cup or X Games gold in what is already looming as the best all-round season by the country's winter stars.

Britt Cox had won gold in the women's moguls at the Winter Olympics test event in Pyeongchang, Korea on Saturday night, her fifth victory of the season.

Lydia Lassila and Danielle Scott (aerials), Matt Graham (moguls), Brockhoff and halfpipe snowboarder Scotty James have also won events in an encouraging sign a year out from the Games.
