Morrison delivers warning to asylum seekers on Nauru

Footage has emerged showing Immigration Minister Scott Morrison speaking to asylum seekers at Australia's offshore detention centre on Nauru.

The video has been posted online by the Melbourne-based Asylum Seeker Resource Centre and seems to have been filmed by Nauruan television.

Although it's unclear exactly when the footage was taken, but it appears to show Mr Morrison telling asylum seekers about the Coalition's asylum seeker policy.

In the footage, he reiterates the government's stance that anyone arriving in Australia by boat will not be resettled there.

"So my message is very simple. You will not be getting what you got on that boat for. And anyone else who tries to come will not get what they got on that boat for," he says in the video.

"And the people smugglers that told you lies - and you should tell your friends and families or others who may be thinking of doing the same - not to believe those lies, not to get on those boats, because you will not get what you came for."
