Morrison gives thumbs up to Albo

Anthony Albanese has secured support from an unlikely quarter - Treasurer Scott Morrison.

Treasurer Scott Morrison says he'd preference Anthony Albanese over the Greens if given the chance to vote in the Labor-held seat of Grayndler.

However, Mr Morrison said he'd rather the Liberals won the inner-Sydney seat where the Daily Telegraph newspaper has launched the "Save our Albo" campaign.

"I would be going for Albo over the Greens any day of the week, but that said, if you vote for Albo you will be getting the Greens anyway because Labor and the Greens will be forming an alliance in government," Mr Morrison told 2GB radio on Monday.

Mr Albanese, who was in Perth on Monday to spruik Labor's infrastructure spending in Western Australia, dismissed the Greens' election push in his electorate.

"I think it says a lot about the Greens political party that while I'm here campaigning ... (and) trying to take seats off the coalition so that Labor's in a position to form government, their priority is replacing me," he told reporters.

"This is week two. Again, we have the Greens leadership in my seat.

"I think people will judge, in my electorate, who it is who's committed to a more progressive Australia."
