His supporters are celebrating his historic election victory, with thousands of people cramming into Cairo's Tahrir SquarE, the birth-place of Egypt's revolution, to mark the start of a new era.
But while Egypt finally has a new president, it's still without a constitution or parliament and it's unclear just how much power the ruling military council will hand over to a civilian leader.
