Wests Tigers youngster Mitchell Moses has emerged as the NRL's leading playmaker over the opening fortnight of the new season.
Moses' sublime form has been key to the Tigers' undefeated start to the season and comes at an opportune time for the five-eighth, as he continues to decide his long-term future.
According to Fox Sports Stats, the 21-year-old leads the NRL with seven try involvements, a statistic that covers tries scored, try assists and contributions or secondary assists.
Moses has four try assists and three contributions so far in 2016.
Moses' Tigers teammate James Tedesco has been the second most influential player in attack in the NRL this season with six try involvements, coming from five tries, and one try assist.
Canterbury halfback Moses Mbye is the next most important player in the NRL. Across the Bulldogs' undefeated start to the season, Mbye has collected six try involvements from his two tries and four try assists.
Then follows a group of Bryson Goodwin, Chad Townsend, Kevin Naiqama, Cody Walker and Ben Hunt with five try involvements each.
But Moses has been the standout so far. His Tigers halves partner Luke Brooks enjoyed his first outing alongside Moses at the scrumbase in the win over Manly on Leichhardt Oval on Monday, following a round one suspension, and was impressed with what he saw.
"We have been throwing the ball around a bit more and that has been good for us," Brooks said.
"We have put on some good tries the last few weeks but that wouldn't have come without our forwards doing their job."
Brooks reserved praise for Tedesco who is the NRL's leading tryscorer after two rounds with five tries. Aaron Gray has four and David Nofoaluma, Bryson Goodwin and Alex Johnston three each.
"James has had a really good pre-season, he has worked really hard and that is showing," Brooks said.
"He is running really hard, but his ball playing skills have really come along too which is great for us."
Sam Burgess has had an immediate impact on his return to the NRL. He is the leading offloader with 11, including nine in South Sydney's big win over Newcastle on Saturday.
Gray has made the most linebreaks with five. Tedesco and Brisbane's Corey Oates have four each.
St George Illawarra forward Tyson Frizell has been the most ill-disciplined player over the first two rounds in conceding five penalties in losses to Melbourne and Cronulla.
