Bonnie Kalanick, the mother of Uber CEO Travis Kalanick, has died and his father Donald is injured after their boat hit a rock and sank in California.

The Fresno County Sheriff's Office says the couple were riding a boat on Pine Flat Lake on Friday when it hit a rock and sank.

Officers were called to the scene where they found a man and woman on the shore.

The sheriff's office says the woman died at the scene, and the man suffered moderate injuries. He told officers the boat had sunk.

The couple, in their early 70s, have been longtime boaters.
