Motocross rider, 51, dies near Wollongong

A 51-year-old man has died after hitting a tree during a social ride at a motocross complex near Wollongong in NSW.

A motocross rider has died after hitting a tree at an off-road track west of Wollongong.

The 51-year-old man was taking part in a social ride at a motocross complex in Kembla Heights when he struck the tree about 10.30am on Sunday.

The rider could not be revived, and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
