Two-time defending MotoGP world champion Marc Marquez has undergone surgery in Barcelona on a fracture in his left hand.
The Repsol Honda rider suffered a fractured fifth metacarpal on Tuesday while mountain bike training on the outskirts of Cervera.
MotoGP's official website says Marquez fell while riding alongside brother and fellow rider Alex Marquez.
The surgery was successful, with screws and a titanium plate inserted into the bone.
Marquez isn't expected to miss any races and is set to ride next up at the Japanese Grand Prix in 10 days at Motegi.
Marquez will begin his rehab within 48 hours.
In April, he broke a finger while riding in a dirt motorcycle race. He had surgery and competed in the Spanish GP later that week.
This season, Marquez is in third place with four races to go. Valentino Rossi leads the standings with 263 points, ahead of Jorge Lorenzo on 249 and Marquez on 184.
