Motorcyclist dies in Queensland crash

A Sunshine Coast man has died after his motorbike hit an embankment wall near Imbil in southeast Queensland.

A man has died when the motorbike he was riding crashed into an embankment wall near Gympie in southeast Queensland.

The 52-year-old rider from the Sunshine Coast was approaching Coonangibba Bridge on Tuchekoi Road in Imbil about 10am on Sunday when his motorbike left the road and crashed, police say.

He died at the scene.

A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle on the Gold Coast.

The 22-year-old was hit on Ferny Avenue, Surfers Paradise, on Saturday night and died in hospital on Sunday afternoon.
