A candlelight memorial service will be held to remember an 11-year-old girl found dead at the weekend in a house in Victoria's northeast.
Tuesday night's memorial in a Wangaratta park comes as a man remains under police guard in a local hospital in relation to the girl's death.
Toys, flowers and written tributes have been laid in front of the Inchbold Street, Wangaratta house where the little girl was found dead by paramedics about 11am on Sunday.
The man, a 29-year-old from Mildura, is being held in a secure unit at the hospital.
He was arrested walking barefoot along Hume Freeway about 6.30am on Sunday, about 10 kilometres from the Inchbold Street house.
He is unfit to be interviewed by homicide detectives about the incident, police say.
Investigators want to speak to any witnesses who saw or offered a lift to the 29-year-old man anywhere between Inchbold Street and Hume Freeway, between Glenrowan Road and Snow Road, between 4.30 and 6.30am on Sunday.
He had no shoes but was wearing a singlet top and cargo shorts.
