Move to clip ex-pollies wings may stall

Independent senator Nick Xenophon is concerned a move to clip the wings of retired politicians may stall if the Senate doesn't pass it before the election.

A move to strip retired politicians of taxpayer funded business class travel is in limbo.

Independent senator Nick Xenophon will move a motion in the Senate on Monday to bring on the legislation which has already passed the lower house but needs to clear the other chamber before a potential early election.

"After 500 days it is inexplicable and inexcusable this legislation hasn't been dealt with," he told The Australian.
