A man accused of a one-punch attack that left a Queensland club manager fighting for her life has been granted bail.
It is alleged Boy Allan Page, 28, tried to punch Melissa Abdoo on Saturday morning after he was refused entry to the Buffs Club in Mount Isa.
Police say he missed but the momentum flung his weight into the 36-year-old woman, causing her to fall and hit her head on concrete.
Page appeared in the Mount Isa Magistrates Court on Monday charged with causing grievous bodily harm.
He was granted bail on the condition he not have contact with the alleged victim, attend licensed premises or drink alcohol.
Ms Abdoo, who was originally left with life-threatening head injuries, has improved and is in a stable condition in Townsville Hospital.
The incident comes in the wake of public outrage over a one-punch attack in Brisbane's Fortitude Valley earlier this month that claimed the life of 18-year-old Cole Miller.
Thousands were expected to turn out to a rally in Brisbane's CBD to pay tribute to the promising water polo player later on Monday.
Ms Abdoo's sisters, Kathryn Abdoo and Brenda Wilson, say their sister is recovering as well as can be expected and have thanked the community for supporting her.
