It's more than two decades since the return of the Mungo Lady, the oldest cremated remains in the world, to Willandra Lakes in south-western NSW.
But Mungo Man, Australia's oldest skeletal remains, is still kept by the Australian National University in a fire-proof, secure location. Now traditional owners want him home.

Mungo Man's discovery in 1974 effectively doubled the known length of Indigenous history in Australia. The remains date back some 40,000 years.
