SYDNEY, Sept 6 AAP - An Iranian asylum seeker accused of stabbing his flatmate to death will remain behind bars following his appearance at a Sydney court.
Javad Heydari, who was in the community on a bridging visa, was arrested on Thursday after emergency services found two men aged 41 and 26, both with stab wounds, at their Berala apartment.
Both were rushed to Westmead Hospital but the 41-year-old later died.
Heydari, 35, was arrested at the scene.
The Afghan-born man has been charged with murder and wounding with intent to murder.

An unshaven Heydari appeared in the dock at Burwood Local Court on Friday dressed in a police-issue jumpsuit.
He did not apply for bail, which was formally refused by Magistrate Christopher Longley.
