Murray to face Aussie Thompson at Queen's

Australian Jordan Thompson gets to play Queen's as a lucky loser - but unfortunately he'll come up against world No.1 Andy Murray.

Australian Jordan Thompson has been elevated into the main draw at Queen's but has the unenviable task of playing world No.1 Andy Murray in the opening round.

Thompson was initially eliminated in the final round of qualifying for the Wimbledon tune-up tournament, beaten by Frenchman Jeremy Chardy in three sets.

But with the withdrawal of Murray's slated first round opponent Aljaz Bedene, due to a wrist injury, world No.90 Thompson got a reprieve as a lucky loser.

Organisers made the announcement at the start of play on day two of the event in west London.

The pair will play later on Tuesday.
