Damascus born Mouaz Al-Nass, a singer and drummer, began chanting the adhan - the Islamic call to prayer - inside the historic palace.
The Islamic call to prayer has not been heard inside the palace for nearly 500 years, according to Al-Arabiya. The video, viewed nearly 1.6 milion times on Facebook, shows Al-Nass recite the Muslim prayer as it echoes throughout the ancient walls.
Tourists and locals are taken aback at Al-Nass' chilling rythmic call and begin to take photos and film the rare sight.

He reportedly said he felt the walls had missed ‘hearing the call to Allah’.
The Alhambra Palace, which in Arabic means Red Castle, was an Islamic fortress complex dating back to the 9th century.
The fortress had a strategic vantage point overlooking Granada in southern Spain, the last remaining Muslim state in Spain during the Reconquista.
In 1482, the Kingdon of Spain went to war with the Emirate of Granada where the fortress moved from Muslim to Christian control.
