The return of Nate Myles from injury has inspired Queensland as they vie for a rare State of Origin whitewash, Johnathan Thurston says.

Myles is expected to run with the Maroons at Friday afternoon's training session at their Gold Coast camp in another positive sign he has overcome a knee complaint.

"One hundred per cent he has made us stand taller. When Nate stands beside you, you know you are safe," Thurston said ahead of Wednesday's game three.
