Prime Minister Julia Gillard and Education Minister Peter Garrett have launched a new version of the government's MySchool website.

The new site, dubbed MySchool 2.0, features new graphical representations of school results.

It also has new security features to ensure it is used appropriately, according to the PM.

The site upgrade will be followed by new data in December.

"I've always believed if we are to achieve or visions of great quality education for every child, then the whole nation must be properly cared for," the PM told reporters.

Mr Garrett thanked PM Gillard, saying the continued improvement of the MySchool website was very important

'The updated Myschool 2.0 site will have a number of important new features," Mr Garrett said.

The information that schools would provide would give it new characteristics, he added.
