Napa fires up for Panthers

Sydney Roosters skipper Jake Friend says there's no reason prop Dylan Napa can't continue his destructive against Penrith on Monday.

Penrith have been warned to expect yet another onslaught from Sydney Roosters destroyer Dylan Napa one week after he terrorised South Sydney.

The Roosters broke through for their first victory of the NRL season last week after Napa inspired the side with some of the most brutal defence seen on an NRL field in recent memory.

As well as making 44 tackles, most of them which left an imprint on the opposition, he ran for 153 metres from 19 runs and scored a decisive try in a marathon effort.

It was described as one of the most memorable performances by a forward ever by commentator and ex-Tricolours coach Phil Gould as Napa played the full 80 minutes as a middle forward, a rare feat in today's game.

Friend says there's no reason Napa can't play a full 80 minutes against the Panthers on Monday night and continue his destructive form.

"With the long turnaround I guess it'd be possible," Friend said.

"I don't know what Trent's thinking (about Napa playing the full 80) there but he's done it once, I'm sure he can do it again."

Friend described Napa's performance as inspirational and said his front-rower was responsible for lifting them to victory at a time when the club needed it most.

"We talked about it as a team, everyone playing their role and Dylan went above and beyond," Friend said.

"It was awesome to see and it lifted us all."
