Victorian Premier Denis Napthine should expel rogue independent MP Geoff Shaw from the Liberal Party over a "sickening" incident involving him and a protester, the state opposition says.
Opposition Leader Daniel Andrews questioned what Mr Shaw had to do, for Dr Napthine to distance himself from him.
"The fact that Geoff Shaw remains a member of Denis Napthine's Liberal Party is something that Denis Napthine should be ashamed of," he told reporters.
"Denis Napthine today should take action to expel Geoff Shaw from the Liberal Party."
Mr Shaw quit the parliamentary Liberal Party in March, but Mr Andrews said he still remains a member of the Liberal Party.
