Earlier this week, analog television signals were switched off in Sydney and surrounding areas.
The permanent switch took place on Tuesday morning at Gore Hill in one of the final three areas of Australia to move to digital-only television.
The switchover is Australia's largest to date, with more than 1.7 million households involved.
Julie Flynn is the chief executive of Free TV Australia, the industry body that represents Australia's free-to-air channels.
Ms Flynn has told Santilla Chingaipe the switch-over to digital has taken three years.
