Rap star Drake might want to save his colourful language for his albums instead of his courtside seats at Toronto Raptors games.
The NBA reportedly warned him about "the use of bad language" after he traded barbs with Cleveland Cavaliers centre Kendrick Perkins in game one of the eastern conference semi-finals.
The pair exchanged words as the Raptors and Cavaliers headed to the tunnels at halftime. Another harsh exchange followed at the end of the game.
The events prompted Kiki Vandeweghe, the NBA's executive vice-president of basketball operations, to contact Raptors vice-president Masai Ujiri, ESPN reported.
Drake is an ardent Raptors fan and the team has named him as a global ambassador.
Cavaliers guard Jose Calderon, who used to play for the Raptors, stood in front of Drake during his exchange with Perkins.
Meanwhile, Cavaliers guard JR Smith tried to nudge Perkins off the court and towards the locker room.
Perkins told ESPN he was "here to support my teammates" when asked about the NBA's warning to Drake.
"At the end of the day, it isn't about Perk versus Drake ... It's the Cleveland Cavaliers versus the Toronto Raptors," Perkins said.
"Besides, what could he possibly do to me? I mean, really. If he leaves me alone, I'll leave him alone, and that's all there is."
Drake could not be reached for comment.
