Grand final MVP Terrico White says there's a "high" chance he'll remain with the Perth Wildcats next season - unless the NBA comes knocking
White was the hero in Perth's 3-1 NBL grand final series win over Melbourne United.
The 29-year-old also produced a series of strong displays during the regular season, combining well with fellow import Bryce Cotton to form a formidable scoring duo.
Cotton is contracted for two more years with the Wildcats, but White's future is up in the air.
White's most recent playing stint before the Wildcats was in Korea, where he won the grand final MVP award.
But the American has loved his time in Perth, and said he was keen to stay at the Wildcats.
"Hopefully it's high," White said of his chances of staying.
"If I can (stay) I would. I really love it here.
"The lifestyle here is great. Everyone here speaks English. Everything is easy.
"In the next couple of weeks we'll see what happens."
White says he will consider taking up a stint in the NBA summer league during the NBL off-season.
And the 196cm wing, who was drafted by the Detroit Pistons in the 2010 NBA draft but failed to play a game, hasn't completely given up hope of playing in the NBA.
"If something in the NBA comes up, then I'll probably take that," White said.
"But other than that I'm happy travelling overseas."
Cotton is keen for White to sign a new deal with the Wildcats.
"He's been amazing," Cotton said.
"He's been a knock-down shooter. He's won plenty of games for us, not just in the playoffs."
The future of coach Trevor Gleeson is also up in the air.
Gleeson, who has won four Championships in six seasons with the Wildcats, is keen to stay, and is hoping to be offered a good deal by the club's management in the coming weeks.
Cotton, who has nursed a thumb injury through the second half of the NBL season, revealed exactly just how bad it was during the club's title celebrations on Monday night.
"It was a grade three tear," Cotton said.
"The doctors told me that I was a few minor tendons away from my thumb being completely ruptured.
"So it was very bad. But luckily I was able to play through it, and now I can rehab it."
